What is Endocarditis?

Endocarditis is an inflammation of the inner layer of the heart, the endocardium. It usually involves the heart valves. Signs and symptoms include fever, chills, sweating, malaise, weakness, anorexia, weight loss, splenomegaly, flu-like feeling, cardiac murmur, and heart failure.
